Measuring What Matters Most

This paper looks at one of the most promising features of the Baldrige framework for K‐12 education an expanded idea of performance measurement focused on three questions: why should you measure, what should you measure, and how should you measure it?

One of the key characteristics of the Education Criteria for Performance Excellence is that they focus on results that represent an organization’s performance and improvement in all key areas:
  • Student Learning Outcomes 
  • Customer‐Focused Outcomes
  • Budgetary, Financial, and Market Outcomes
  • Workforce‐Focused Outcomes
  • Process Effectiveness Outcomes
  • Leadership Outcomes
